In OWASP’s Top Ten, OWASP ranks Security Logging and Monitoring Failures as one of the top ten most common security risks. OWASP ranked it as #9 in the 2021 version and renamed it in 2025. OWASP also noted that the potential operational loss of this category far outweighs the rank alone.
