Time to glass is the elapsed time between when a log event or telemetry record arrives at your analytics platform and when you can query or see it on a dashboard. It covers every step in between: decompression, normalization, transforms, indexing, and partition writes. It does not measure how fast a query runs once data is already available; that is query latency.
