One of the most impactful successes Hydrolix has seen this year is our Powered by Hydrolix Partner Program.
While we officially announced the program in June 2024, the Powered by Hydrolix Partner Program truly kicked off in November 2023 when we joined the Akamai Qualified Compute Partner Program. Akamai built their managed observability service, TrafficPeak, using the Hydrolix real-time data platform as the engine and Akamai Connected Cloud as the compute platform.
TrafficPeak fills a data analytics and management gap that plagues companies worldwide, especially those that produce massive amounts of data and need data insights in real time. That gap is cost-effective observability—the ability to ingest, retain, and query trillions of terabytes of log data in real time to immediately spot issues impacting the performance and security of networks, applications, and systems.
In this past year alone, TrafficPeak has gained 300+ customers, and Hydrolix has seen 100% YoY revenue growth. The rapid success served as the launchpad for the Powered by Hydrolix Partner Program.
TrafficPeak Changed the Game
Before TrafficPeak, companies were spending a third of their cloud infrastructure budget on observability. Their CDNs and security tools produced billions of rows of data, much of which contained important information about incidents that impacted the user experience, such as buffering, outages, error pages, and security threats. Yet, the ability to ingest and alert on that data in real time so that incidents could be mitigated immediately was hard to come by.
Some observability solutions would crash from the tsunami of data, unable to handle the scale. Others quickly shifted data to cold storage, which made querying that data take hours or even days—too long to mitigate issues before they impacted users. Because of high storage costs, some companies chose to discard or sample data, leading to incomplete insights and information gaps during investigations.
Akamai customers needed an affordable way to ingest, store, and analyze all of their security and performance data. They also needed to see their top insights in one dashboard so they knew exactly which issues were happening at that moment, where they existed, and which users and devices were impacted.
The faster companies can pinpoint issues, the faster they can fix them. And that was where TrafficPeak on Akamai Connected Cloud shined.
One retail company used TrafficPeak to spot a massive DDoS attack during Black Friday week, its busiest shopping season. The attack spanned 80 countries and 3000 IP addresses. With TrafficPeak, the company spotted and stopped the attack instantly, before any of its customers were impacted.
A large streaming media company used TrafficPeak during the biggest football game of the year. TrafficPeak ingested 53 billion records, and transformed 41 terabytes of raw data into 5.76 terabytes of compressed data stored. The event went smoothly with low error counts and the media company had full visibility into their CDN performance.

The Powered by Hydrolix Partner Program consists of technology, referral, strategic, and reseller partners. Our technology partnership ecosystem has grown the fastest, with partner solutions plugging into Hydrolix’s three main services:

- TrafficPeak
- Hydrolix for AWS: Our newest observability service built on AWS for origin and AWS edge services
Because of our partnerships, customers can see performance and security data insights throughout the digital journey, from the minute content leaves the origin server to when it reaches end user devices. They can enrich data as it’s ingested and see their top insights using the visualization dashboards of their choice. They can query their data with sub-second latency because data in Hydrolix is always hot. And they do all of this while saving money.
Hydrolix is able to store data at a fraction of the cost of other providers and includes real-time data transformation at ingest, high-density compression (greater than 90%), and decoupled architecture that allows enterprises to scale resources up or down based on demand.
Entering 2025, we plan to grow the Powered by Hydrolix Partner Program even more. Our goal is to continue enabling the success of our current partners while onboarding new ones, especially strategic partners who can use our software as the engine for building solutions aligned to observability, cybersecurity, AdTech, and ML/AI.
