Like many people, I’ve been attending conferences for decades. We expect networking, educational talks, swag galore, booth pitches, demos, and parties—the usual. What we don’t expect is for everything to go better than right. We don’t expect that while the majority of us are ready to go home, a part of us is a bit sad it’s over.

For Hydrolix, that was NAB 2025 in Las Vegas. I have never felt the magnetic energy, camaraderie, and excitement like I did at this conference. And I am sure I am not alone. From winning an NAB Show Product of the Year award, to a panel with our customer Fox Corporation, to 80+ meetings with customers, prospects and partners, to hosting an NCAA watch party with our partner Akamai and quadrupling the expected number of attendees, Hydrolix was everywhere.

And let’s not forget when we sponsored AWS Band Night, where our SVP of Global Sales sang her heart out in front of 600+ attendees.

Let’s begin with the booth. Our Hydrolix booth, W4000, was abuzz the entire week. Our team was all hands on deck—CEO and co-founder, product and sales leaders, partner and marketing experts— showing demos, talking to customers, and propping up partners.

We are proud of how full the booth remained— when we told attendees we were the sole multi-CDN provider for Fox for Super Bowl 2025, they leaned in to learn more. When we explained how we also ran observability for the Olympics, Super Bowl 2024, and the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, their ears perked. A dull moment never existed at the booth.

Our speaking engagements went off without a hitch. First, NAB conference staff interviewed Hydrolix CTO Todd Persen about what it takes to run a live streaming event.

Then, we expanded on that topic in a panel discussion at the AWS theater featuring Fox Corporation Sr. Director of Video Engineering, Dilip Singh, Hydrolix Field CTO Catherine Johnson, and Todd. The panelists discussed how they prepared to run observability for the Super Bowl 2025, questions that arose during the event, challenges they had to overcome, and the overall ambiance. The metrics lit up the room—ingesting 17.4 GB/Second, 55,000 queries with a less than a second response time, 16x raw data compression, and 5-10 second time to glass. The team was so busy they couldn’t even watch the game!

Hydrolix really hit a home run when winning the NAB Show Product of the Year for monitoring and measuring tools. The awards showcase companies that are bringing the media and entertainment industry forward by building innovative solutions for content creation, distribution, and monetization. Our platform helps companies worldwide deliver the best quality of experience by spotting performance and security issues instantly, before they impact users. The award is validation of our success in solving the economic and big data challenges that media and entertainment companies grapple with today.

Finally, let’s get to the parties! In addition to the 80+ customer and partner meetings we engaged in at the conference, Hydrolix also hosted and co-sponsored large scale events such as the NAB Streaming Summit, which included a rooftop happy hour overlooking Las Vegas, an NCAA watch party with our partner Akamai Technologies, and our partner AWS’s Band Night.

The NCAA watch party had quadruple the attendance we expected. It fostered the perfect environment for speaking with Akamai leaders and customers about TrafficPeak, Akamai’s managed observability service that runs on Akamai Connected Cloud, and is built by Hydrolix. TrafficPeak was the observability service for the Olympics and Super Bowl 2024.

AWS Band Night had 600+ attendees, with Hydrolix, PwC and Adobe as co-sponsors, and our Global SVP of Sales, Christina Cewe, who is also an American Idol runner up, sang on stage.

AWS is our newest partner—our managed observability solution is on the AWS Marketplace. It ingests AWS edge services data, including CloudFront, WAF and Elemental. Hydrolix on AWS ran observability for the Super Bowl 2025.

NAB was one conference we will never forget, and we can’t wait to return in 2026.
