CDNs, both public and private, carry 90% of all consumer internet traffic, providing fast, reliable content delivery and high-quality viewer experiences at global scale. Many enterprises use multiple CDNs to ensure a quality experience, both for day-to-day operations and the biggest events of the year.

Monitoring CDN infrastructure is now a baseline requirement for maintaining excellence, but the massive scale of CDN log data makes real-time analytics challenging. You need to be able to compare performance across CDNs, regions, and providers, then find and fix issues before your customers are impacted. Traditionally, operators have had to switch between multiple dashboards of heavily sampled, incomplete data, leaving them without the evidence they need when something goes wrong.

CDN Insights is the only solution that gives you unified CDN data across the world’s major CDN providers, with the ability to drill down into individual providers, ASNs, regions, and individual raw logs—whatever you need to get to the root cause of an issue.

CDN Insights: A Unified View Into Your Delivery Infrastructure

When CDN Insights was released, it came with built-in integrations for CDNs covering more than 80% of the world’s internet traffic, including Akamai, AWS CloudFront, Cloudflare, and Fastly. It was immediately in high demand because it fills a gap that other platforms simply can’t provide: complete visibility across your delivery networks for performance, security, CDN switching, and simple peace of mind.

Increasingly, enterprises are using multiple CDNs to improve QoE and scale for large online events. With the majority of existing tools, teams must switch between aggregated dashboards, if they can even get answers at all. CDN Insights solves that problem, and the teams that use it are realizing that the use cases extend far beyond basic monitoring, and include cache optimization, capacity planning, security investigations, and QoE analysis for live events. High-fidelity, long-retention CDN log data, available in a single unified dashboard, has proven to be genuinely useful at all levels of the business, not just operations teams, and for many different kinds of businesses.

Media and entertainment companies need to serve flawless streams and embedded ads or risk customer churn and lost revenue. Financial institutions must ensure that every transaction goes smoothly, all while keeping a full history of requests for compliance and security. Retail businesses don’t want to leave a single shopping cart unfulfilled during sales, whether they are the biggest or smallest of the year. And gaming companies rely on massive CDN infrastructure for successful launch days and updates.

CDNs are reliable, but at massive scale, something (and sometimes many things) will go wrong. Whether it’s a massive DDoS attack or a minor config issue with an ASN that causes major buffering issues regionally, CDN Insights provides the comprehensive visibility teams need to protect QoE, revenue, and the brand.

Now With Expanded CDN Support

Due to strong demand from customers using multi-CDN delivery architectures, we’ve expanded our list of fully supported, turnkey monitoring from 5 CDNs to 11, including Google, Varnish, and CacheFly. The following dashboard shows a unified view of errors, edge cache hit rate, and peak throughput rates across all CDNs, ready for origin-to-edge insights even when you’re ingesting data at petabyte scale from many different sources.

Everything is green and looking good, but operations teams know that can change quickly, especially during major events.

Here’s the complete list of CDNs that CDN Insights now supports:

Let’s take a look at a few of the new CDNs supported, the value they can bring to your infrastructure, and how Hydrolix is partnering with CDN providers to offer complete visibility from the origin to the edge.

CacheFly

CacheFly has been in the market since 2002. Its customer base skews toward media, gaming, and ad tech, verticals where throughput performance and reliability under load are absolutely critical. CacheFly built its reputation on high-performance delivery for demanding traffic profiles, and its network reflects that focus.

“Partnering with Hydrolix allows us to extend the value of our edge platform beyond delivery into deep, real-time intelligence across multi-CDN architectures. By joining CDN Insights, our customers gain a unified, global view of CDN performance—making it easier to optimize routing decisions, improve user experience, enhance security, and make faster, data-driven decisions.”

Matt Levine, Founder and CTO, CacheFly

Varnish Ora

Varnish Software offers Varnish Ora CDN, a fully European-hosted sovereign CDN, and Varnish Cache, the open source software that enables delivery of HTTP-based content for millions of websites.

“In our work with CDN operators at scale, observability has evolved into the control plane for modern streaming. By combining Varnish’s edge capabilities with Hydrolix’s real-time data platform, we enable full telemetry that allows teams to detect anomalies early, optimize delivery dynamically, and significantly reduce data and infrastructure costs, while moving toward more autonomous, data-driven streaming infrastructure.”

Arianna Aondio, Director Solutions Engineering, Varnish Software

Google Media CDN

Google Media CDN runs on the same infrastructure that powers YouTube, which makes it a logical choice for anyone serving large-scale video or high-throughput file delivery. The architecture is built for egress at scale, and it integrates natively with Google Cloud origins while also supporting external origin configurations.

If you’re a Google-native company, you can run Hydrolix fully on Google infrastructure, using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Google Cloud Storage, and your own virtual private cloud.
