Akamai has chosen Hydrolix as their 2024 North America Qualified Computing Partner (QCP) Partner of the Year.

Partnerships in the technology industry are common, but highly successful partnerships are more rare than one might think. Organizations need to figure out the best way to jointly solve customer problems, define common goals, cross train on products that may not be an internal priority, and integrate cross functional teams that might have very different working styles into collaborative and productive groups. Easier said than done.

In extraordinary cases, everything comes together quickly—the right partners with the right solution at the right time that customers need. Enter TrafficPeak by Akamai and Hydrolix.

TrafficPeak, Akamai’s managed observability service that’s powered by Hydrolix, launched in the fall of 2023. TrafficPeak took off quickly with 33 customers signing on, and by the end of 2024 that number rose to more than 370, driving a 11x customer growth in the offering’s first year of availability. TrafficPeak gives Akamai customers valuable insights and analysis into their log data files, improving threat remediation and service levels while keeping data storage costs under control.

Whether you are looking at Akamai’s QCP program, or their breadth of technology partnerships, it’s clear that Akamai has created a highly successful ecosystem of partners that bring tremendous value to their customers. So standing out in such an esteemed group is no easy task.

When evaluating companies for their Partner of the Year awards, Akamai takes into account defined metrics like year over year growth and number of customers, as well as more nuanced factors that are indicative of high-performing partnerships like robust use cases, win reports, inter-team collaboration, and customer feedback. Ultimately it takes a lot to stand out, but stand out is exactly what Hydrolix and TrafficPeak did.

“Hydrolix embodies everything we hope for from a partner in our QCP program, working with the Akamai teams and our customers as a trusted collaborator, helping to unlock TrafficPeak’s full value,” said Dan Lawrence, Akamai Technologies Vice President of Global Enterprise Sales, Cloud.

Customers worldwide have found TrafficPeak to be a crucial part of their data strategy, and the service has been adopted by leaders in industries including streaming media, banking and finance, gaming, ecommerce, and travel companies.

While TrafficPeak’s success has had tremendous impact for both Akamai and Hydrolix, the typical partnership hallmarks that are indicative of the QCP of the Year award winners go beyond just product market fit. Cooperation and collaboration are the rule, not the exception, always with the customer’s best interests prioritized in conversations.

When informed about the award, Marty Kagan, Hydrolix co-founder and CEO said, “Early on, our partnership with Akamai fostered a deep cooperation between their teams and ours, always with the customer’s best interests being at the center of the relationship. To be named the North American QCP of the Year recipient from one of the world’s leading technology companies with customer-first values is a tremendous honor.”
